October Update

I've been a little hesitant to post these last few weeks. That's not to say nothing has been happening, quite the contrary. The issue is focus.

My original intention for this blog was to provide a single location where friends and family could follow my progress on one bike ride. At the time, I was thinking ahead, to when I start doing longer bike tours or tours in other countries. The plan was for the blog to only be "active" during and immediately following these adventures.

However, the response and the constant questions ("are you going to blog this?" or "I look forward to reading about this") have made me rethink my original plan.

So, I beg your forgiveness and participation. As we enter my winter hiatus (and I start off-season training for next year), I'm going to be trying to find the voice of this blog by covering activities and events outside of my originally planned scope. Let me know what you like or don't like, either by commenting on the side or sending me an email (feedback at follow fred dot com).

Update: A December update on the October update that was posted in November....

I tried. I really tried.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to find the right "voice" for non-cycling/training/fun events. I spent weeks trying to re-write a story on a Photography conference I attended. Even now, it reads more like a disinterested journalists review than the column "wow, I wish I was there" style that I prefer.

So for those of you who were hoping for non-sports/exercise related posts, I'm sorry. Until I find the right event there shall be no such posts.
